U.S. Postal Service is warning customers about scam e-mail messages about attempted package delivery.
The e-mails claim to be from the USPS, and if opened instructs customers to click on a link to find out more about when they can expect delivery of their package. Like most viruses sent by e-mail, clicking on the link will activate a virus that can steal information such as user names, passwords and other financial account information.
The Postal Service Inspection Service is aware of the problem and working to resolve the issue and shut down the malicious program. It regrets any inconvenience it may have caused for customers.
For additional information on the virus or to report receipt of a message, contact 800-ASK-USPS.
